Last year, in my uni, I had this class and the one and only project of it
was to make an illustrated story about inclusivity. In the span of 3 months,
with the help of my teacher and an expert, I made "I am, I don't have". It's
a story about an autistic bunny named Ariana, which, after hearing from her
aunties that "she had autism", she begins a journey in her house to
find such thing.
As an autistic girl myself, I picked this topic as I'm more familiar with
ASD and neurodivergencies as a whole. From being autistic myself, to having
an autistic partner, an autistic cousin and a brother with ADHD (and several
friends with ADHD as well). This story was co-written and reviewed by a
speech therapist and an occupational therapist. The rest is all me, I came
up with the story, translation to English (as it was originally in Spanish)
and illustrations.
You're free to use it as you will. Print it, edit it, read it to your family
members, students, patients, make an audiobook, even turn it into a coloring
book. Anything but make profit off of it, pretty please.
I hope you like and enjoy this little short story. :D
PD: The names of both professionals are censored because, as of the moment
I'm writing this, they haven't answered to any of my emails in regard of
how should I credit them.
